The blanket is decent enough for the price. Not a great buy or anything.
The quality of the material is not too bad. I like that it's really soft, but the dry winter weather (just when you need it most) induces static electricity. I'd get shocked by my doorknob everytime after I'm using this blanket. It's also a little too small. I'm 5'-8" so I'm not really that tall, but i still can't comfortably slide under the blanket from head to toe.

I wasn't really trying to Black Friday shop, but this popped up and was almost over so I took a chance and hit the buy before reading the reviews. Overall I am very pleased.
I did see the size before buying so I was not surprised by the actual dimensions (sometimes it's hard to picture something without it being in front of you). It is truly 'throw' sized and not at all appropriate for a blanket (unless you are a child, or perhaps a dog). If you are looking at purchasing, do measure it out and see if this is the correct size you are looking for.
In terms of construction it does appear to be adequately done. The hemming is straight, but not particularly fine, mostly notable at the corners. Not threatening to unravel or anything, just not fancy.
This is a nice, warm throw--notably, it really does heat up quickly which I think is a feature of the microfiber.
The blanket achieves the nice warmth using very little weight. The pile is very soft and very light. Very, very soft in fact.
I have noted some degree of 'shedding'. So far I've noticed it improves with a couple washes, and it gets washed with darks (I have the navy blue color). I don't think it appears defective, I think it was just loose pieces from the manufacture. (Edited to add: I should also note that after the washes it does look a little different, but feels the same--and dry by itself as those loose bits were all over--but no more are coming off at this point).
The thing that knocks this down to 4 stars is the initial chemical/petroleum type aroma that emanates quite strongly when the package is first opened, and permeates the throw. Oddly enough, it is the same aroma that hit me when I first open the new Amazon brand Kindle sleeve. Such disparate products, but the Pinzon brand does appear to be the Amazon house brand (at least by the current labeling). I find it coincidental that the same chemical scent was so strong.
The scent did fade quickly, but as I noted on the Kindle cover, it might be very distasteful to those with sensitive noses and or chemical triggers for allergies or reactive airways. Unlike the Kindle cover, at least this one is washable--so I do highly recommend a good wash before it's first use.
Really quite a nice throw, but the smell just makes me think chemical-processing. Particularly for the low cost I was able to purchase it at I am happy with it. I wish I bought two as my dog does like a blanket on her bed when it's chilly (she only has a tiny bit of fat, and has a very thin coat as is typical of her breed--plus she is spoiled).
Recommended, just with the caveat regarding washing (which we all do anyway right???)

The blanket arrived quickly and we have been happy with it ever since. Of course it is just a simple thing, not fancy all, but it works well in keeping a chill off while sitting on the couch.
